CMM UX User Group
Cisco Meeting Management customer testing focus group that did wonders
Creating the CMM UX User Group
When I joined Cisco working on the On Premise meeting solutions Cisco design team didn't interact with customers. It's not easy to reach out to corporate clients B2B and B2C both. I started using the Cisco collaboration tool Webex app and realised that there are some post development beta testing space where our customers have signed up to do a pre-release technical testing.
I proposed to create a UX space with willing customers who would form a focus group and a resource for us that we can tap into and have sessions with whenever we have prototypes to test.
The space was a hit and more than 30 customers signed up to take part in our research. The customers would take part in Discovery to share their insight into the need for the feature at hand. Share what their current practices were and then the same group would take part in testing prototypes.
In the end these customers would own the designs because they were part of these designs from start to finish and acted as ambassadors for the promotion of Cisco Meeting Management application.
This space was not only used to recruit customers to take part in Discovery and Usability testing but also took part in A/B testing, discussions and polls.
